Bill is a Non-Executive Director of Ridgeway. He is a security professional with experience developing intelligence systems, managing security and countering crime within both the private and public sectors.

Prior to joining Ridgeway, he served in UK government roles including the leadership of the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS) and the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA). Whilst at SOCA, Bill led the UK’s national Financial Intelligence Unit, and directed initiatives relating to strategic threat assessment, open-source capability and developments to intelligence management.

Since retiring from SOCA in 2013, Bill held advisory board positions on projects with Transparency International and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) relating to corruption and financial crime. He has also acted as an advisor to NGOs on human trafficking.

Bill holds a PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a MSc in Management.
